As a global leader in digital marketing, this company’s clients include virtually every major food, drug and mass retailer and consumer goods brand in the Fortune 500.
Anxious to fortify its position as a trusted technology partner, Catalina Marketing’s Global Security Team sought an outsourced Project Management firm to partner with its preferred vendors to deploy a suite of cyber security projects aimed at enhancing protections around sensitive corporate, client and consumer data.
Catalina needed an experienced Program Manager to serve as a liaison to selected vendors and multiple project sponsors, market the initiative to internal stakeholders, track & control limited people, technology and financial resources and devise a simple, but effective reporting tool to communicate progress to the company’s executive leadership team.
SIMPLY VIRTUAL™ was engaged to manage the entire suite of projects – from initiation to close. Because the selected service providers were geographically dispersed, we suggested the program might be managed remotely, with a prerequisite that our PM would invest up to 3 days each month on site.
Our project delivery team documented each project’s scope, validated requirements and defined deliverables – ever before a kick-off meeting was held. We compiled and delivered detailed project charters to ensure expectations were aligned and developed a comprehensive program dashboard to track and report KPIs. With such an impressive start, the client was able to secure budget approval for additional resources.
At completion, Catalina’s Global Security Team was able to demonstrate the program’s expected ROI. Because of the success of this initiative, the company is better positioned to protect sensitive corporate, client and consumer data, ward off or detect & respond to potential cyber security incidents and in turn, win new business. They also leveraged data unearthed during program execution to design a roadmap for future security enhancement initiatives.
